Free llms.txt Generator

llms.txt is a plain markdown file at the root of your website that gives AI systems a short, curated map of your site: who you are and which pages matter most. It was proposed in September 2024 by Jeremy Howard.

This free generator builds a correctly formatted llms.txt file from your site name, a short summary and a list of links. It runs in your browser and nothing is stored.

Does llms.txt help you show up in AI answers?

There is no public proof yet. The major AI search providers have not confirmed that they use llms.txt to choose what to cite, and Google has said it does not use it for Search. It costs almost nothing to publish, so treat it as a small extra on top of crawl access, answer-first content and structured data.

Where do you put it?

It has to load at https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt. On static hosts such as Vercel, Netlify or Cloudflare Pages, place it in your public folder. On WordPress, upload it to the site root with your host file manager or FTP.
